Murderer's Row (1966)

Director: Henry Levin
Writers: Herbert Baker (screenplay), Donald Hamilton (novel)
Stars: Dean Martin, Ann-Margret and Karl Malden

Number two in the Matt Helm collection.  A slightly toasty Dean Martin (are you surprised?) plays secret agent Matt Helm, the man with wacky gun, penchant for cocktails, and pretty ladies always by his side (or with a gun to his back).  I love, love, love the crazy fashion in the Matt Helm films and I especially love miss Ann-Margret as the frantic gogo dancing "Helm Girl" in this film.  She oozes adorable just as I'm sure Deano was oozing gin for sweat.  The bad guy has a metal skull plate and Karl Malden is as wormy as ever the super bad bad guy.  I want Matt Helms bar.

  2. "Murderer's Row" is hands down the best Matt Helm film. When you have Dean surrounded by Ann-Margret, Camilla Sparv (who was so stunning that fellow Swedish actress Inger Stevens was probably envious of her at that time), and Karl Malden (not to mention making fun of her close friend Frank Sinatra in one scene), that's a sign of something special.
